Health World
Barrington, IL
Ask people to recall their favorite exhibit, place or activity in a museum and their answers define the "icons", or signature experiences, of that institution. An icon implies widespread, popular appeal and, over time, becomes a defining part of the museum's identity. These powerful elements attract visitors and make strong, long-term impressions. Although icons are established by visitors, one of our design goals when planning a large-scale installation is to create elements with high levels of icon potential.
Even lying down for a nap, Health World's signature icon, an 85-foot-long Little Leaguer, signals that this is a place for and about kids.
